The inner burr disc (the one that does not spin with the shaft) kept slipping off of its studs and was letting whole corn slip through and was horribly inconsistent with the cracked corn size. If you are just trying to crack it you can get a grinder such as this or even an old hand crank that you use for meat etc, find a 5 gal plastic water jug cut the bottom off and tape it to it liek a big funnel.
