In general for professional grinding shop with industrial machines there is a reasonable selection of thin wheels. However for your typical bench grinder the selection is more limited. We are therefore pretty pleased to be able to offer these very thin two Norton grinding wheels for 6" grinders with 1/2" shafts only.
However, the harder wheel isn't for all situations, as we recommend the softer Norton I-grade Wheel for high carbon steel tool grinding applications. This wheel is available in a 46 grit for coarse work and a 80 grit for finer work. The 8" wheel has a 1" arbor hole with bushings for 7/8", 3/4" and 5/8" arbors and is rated for 3600 rpm.
