I happened across a very old Swisher grinder the other day, and wondered just what these were specifically made for. The model I looked at had a half-moon shaped magnetic chuck and a vertical spindle that seemed to be swung in an arc by hand. It looks similar to a Blanchard grinder, but not quite.
