The machine did a good job putting a flat surface on the heads which we always checked on a large cast iron surface plate using feeler gages. Where I think it really shined was on flywheels. We would work the flywheel in a looping, flower petal type pattern rotating the flywheel eight times to produce a nice cross hatch pattern.
